Fremont Peak, 13,745 feet above sea level as viewed for 100 miles by tourists on US 187 by tourists on US 187 enroute to Pinedale, Grand Teton and Yellowstone National Parks. It is second highest on centennial divide in the magnificent Wind River range. It was first climbed by Captain John C. Fremont August 15, 1842. Island lake, named by Fremont, has fabulous rainbow fishing.
